FDNY Under Investigation for Alleged Bar Brawl Publicado - Published: 04/02/2010BAY RIDGE (WABC).- Police are investigating an alleged huge violent bar fight in Brooklyn that involved nearly two dozen firefighters.
Last Friday's brutal attack is believed to have started over a spilled drink.
Apparently when that happened, up to two dozen firefighters, in the Salty Dog bar in Bay Ridge, allegedly started a huge brawl. The man who spilled his drink along with his three cousins, were reportedly attacked.
The published reports say the firefighters allegedly not only beat the patrons, but the bouncers had to intervene and try to stop things.
The firefighters, active and retired members, from Engine Co. 310 and Ladder Co. 174 in East Flatbush, were evicted from the bar.
Their alleged involvment in the brawl only came to the attention of the NYPD, when one of the patrons called the police from his hospital room.
That man had extensive injuries. According to published reports, his eye-orbit bone, his collar bone and his shoulder had been broken.
The NYPD is investigating the alleged incident.
